How Many Kids Has AIDS Left Orphaned?

Due to the death rate and plague of HIV/AIDS the life expectancy is even shorter yet. The average life expectancy if your lucky is roughly 20-30 years. With people dying that young there honestly aren't many grandparents around to take care of these kids. Without parents how can they eat? How can they go to school and live and grow? These children can't grow up normally and enjoy childhood because they are too busy trying to raise their younger brothers and sisters. The orphanage rate due to parents that were lost because of AIDS is around 11.6 million children in Sub-Saharan Africa. How did this number get so out of control? Will we ever get it back to normal? Why is Africa slammed so hard with this epidemic? Life may not be fair but we can still try to help and make it easier for those suffering in Africa.
